Instructions for Installing the Data Expansion Set

Five easy steps to upgrade to the Data Expansion Set:
  
1. Open Gecko-Charts 2.5 and do a data download. 
Either double-click the icon on the desktop or click on the Start Menu - Programs - Gecko Software - Gecko-Charts 2.5.

Your first data download after purchasing the expanded data subscription will inform your copy of Gecko-Charts that it has more than the base 15 commodities available to use, and that you may export data. The verifying your symbol list step in the data download may take a few minutes longer this time as the extra commodities are made available. After the data download is complete, a message will appear informing you that you have new commodities available to choose from. Dismiss the data download window and exit Gecko-Charts then move on to step 2.
 
2.  Check your installation. 
When installing Gecko-Charts 2.5 you are asked to choose between three installation options:  TYPICAL, COMPACT, or CUSTOM. 
 
bulletIf you chose the TYPICAL or COMPACT Installation, you must now install the Subscription data.  Click here to view the instructions for installing the Subscription data on your computer. 
bulletIf you chose the CUSTOM Installation and selected the subscription data set, go to Step 3.
3. Start Gecko Charts and Select the Commodity Chooser.
To open the Commodity Chooser click on the icon on the Quick Bar or select the File Menu - Select Commodities.
4. Select Commodities. 
Click on the Commodities that you would like to add to your data base and then click on the arrow buttons or click on the add all button to select all available commodities.  Then Click on Ok to complete the selections.
5. Begin using Gecko-Charts 2.5! 
You are now ready to start using Gecko-Charts 2.5 with your new commodities.  Click on the new chart or open chart to begin using Gecko-Charts 2.5!

To install the Subscription Data
A. Open the Add/Remove Utility:
Click on Start - Settings - Control Panel - Add/Remove Icon.
  B. Select Gecko-Charts:
In the Install/Uninstall Window, select Gecko-Charts and then click on the Add/Remove Button.
  C. Modify Installation:
The Install Shield Wizard will create a window giving you three options - MODIFY, REPAIR, UNINSTALL.  Choose the MODIFY Option and then click next to proceed.
  D. Install Subscription Data:
The Modify Option will take you to the Select Components screen. Select the historical database options that you prefer: 
bulletExpanded Database (Minimal):  This option includes all historical data from the year 2000 to present.
bulletExpanded Database (Maximum):  This option includes ALL historical data available.
  E. Finish and Resume:
Follow instructions and click on Finish.  Once the installation is complete click here to resume the update process at Step 3 above.
